Dear Visitor,
You have made your way to this blog, hopefully because you are interested in security cameras on the campus of Santa Clara. In this blog, I am looking to find out just exactly how much we are surveilled, and whether or not there needs to be some changes made to the way that surveillance takes place on the campus of Santa Clara.
Over the course of this investigation, I am going to post as I am doing my research, so that you, the reader, can hopefully come to the same conclusion that I do, and fully understand my thought process as I go along
I would first like to talk about my opinions and hypotheses on the subject. I believe that at Santa Clara, there are a pretty decent amount of cameras. I know that I am being watched whenever I walk into Swig hall, and then again whenever I take the elevator. I know that there are cameras on the outsides of buildings, and I've even heard a story from my CF about a sexual assault that was spotted in a Swig room using a camera on the outside of Kennedy, so I am guessing that there are some cameras around campus that are probably pointed in directions that they shouldn't be.
After having read Little Brother, I have learned to become very wary of surveillance, and I have definitely become much more paranoid of people watching me. I personally do feel as though I am being watched most of the time that I am on campus, however I don't really feel as though there is an obnoxious amount of cameras, but rather that there is a good amount of cameras, in public areas where it probably would be a hazard to not have them.
